Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated August 26, 2026

Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how GearDrop collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our website, request a quote, arrange a shipment, make a payment, or contact us. It applies to GearDrop's website and shipping services in the United States.

Information we collect

  • Contact and account information, such as your name, email address, phone number, and Google profile information if you use Google sign-in.
  • Shipment information, such as origin, destination, sender and recipient details, package contents, dimensions, weight, service level, pickup or drop-off choices, and shipment dates.
  • Transaction information, such as quoted and charged amounts, payment status, refunds, card brand, and the last four digits of a payment card. Stripe collects and processes full payment-card details; GearDrop does not receive or store full card numbers or security codes.
  • Communications and any information you submit through our contact form or support email.
  • Device and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, request timestamps, and diagnostic or security logs.
  • Location-search information, including ZIP codes, map-center coordinates, and the identifier of a selected carrier location.

How we use information

  • Provide quotes and carrier-location results.
  • Arrange, manage, track, cancel, and support shipments.
  • Authorize, capture, reconcile, and refund payments.
  • Send confirmations, labels, receipts, service notices, and support responses.
  • Authenticate users and prevent fraud, abuse, card testing, and security incidents.

How we disclose information

We disclose personal information only as needed for the purposes described above, including to:

  • Stripe, which processes payments and related fraud information under the Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Carriers, logistics providers, and carrier-location providers that quote or fulfill your shipment.
  • Google, when you use Google sign-in or mapping features, under the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Cloud hosting, storage, email, analytics, security, and customer-support vendors.
  • Professional advisers, government authorities, or other parties when required by law or to protect rights.
  • A buyer, investor, or successor as part of a proposed or completed business transaction.

GearDrop does not sell personal information. GearDrop also does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Maps and carrier locations

A carrier-location search sends the submitted ZIP code to the Google Places API and map-center coordinates to the Google Maps Static API. We do not retain the full set of Google Places display results. If you select a location, we may retain its place ID, carrier, provider source, and the ZIP code you submitted.

Cookies and browser storage

We use cookies and similar browser storage to maintain sessions, remember preferences, support checkout, and protect the service. You can remove browser data through your browser settings, but some features may stop working. Stripe and Google may use their own cookies or similar technologies when their services appear on GearDrop.

Retention

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by the type of record. We may keep deidentified information that cannot reasonably identify you.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. Payments are collected through Stripe's PCI-compliant payment technology and transmitted over HTTPS. No security method is completely reliable, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. You may also object to or request limits on certain uses where applicable. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when required by law or for legitimate business purposes. Authorized agents may submit a request where permitted by law.

Send requests to support@geardropusa.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Children

GearDrop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. We will post the updated policy here and revise the date at the top. Material changes will receive additional notice when required by law.
