Terms of Service

Effective and last updated August 26, 2026

Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of GearDrop's website and shipping services. By requesting a quote, booking a shipment, or using the website, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use GearDrop for a business or another person, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for them.

Our service

GearDrop provides quotes and arranges shipping services for sports equipment, luggage, and other eligible gear through third-party carriers. GearDrop is not the carrier. The carrier transports the shipment under its applicable service guide, tariff, and terms. Carrier service levels and estimated arrival dates are not guarantees unless the carrier expressly states otherwise.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. Provide accurate, current information and keep account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and for shipment instructions submitted by anyone you authorize.

Quotes, prices, and payment

  • Prices are displayed and charged in U.S. dollars unless checkout clearly states another currency.
  • A quote depends on the information you provide. Weight, dimensions, address, service, pickup, taxes, surcharges, and carrier adjustments may change the final amount.
  • You authorize GearDrop and Stripe, our payment processor, to authorize and charge your selected payment method for the amount shown at checkout and for later carrier adjustments allowed by these terms.
  • Stripe collects full payment details through its PCI-compliant payment technology. GearDrop does not receive or store full card numbers or card security codes.
  • GearDrop may authorize payment before booking and capture it after the carrier accepts the shipment. If booking fails, we will cancel the authorization or refund a captured payment.

Shipment requirements

You are responsible for:

  • Giving complete and accurate sender, recipient, package, value, and contents information.
  • Using packaging that is suitable for the contents and complies with carrier requirements.
  • Removing old labels and securely attaching the GearDrop-provided label to the correct package.
  • Being available for a scheduled pickup or tendering the package at an eligible location on time.
  • Complying with applicable laws and the carrier's prohibited and restricted item rules.

Do not ship hazardous materials, illegal goods, cash, controlled substances, weapons, perishables, live animals, or any item prohibited by the carrier or applicable law. GearDrop or the carrier may refuse, inspect, hold, return, or dispose of a noncompliant shipment as permitted by law. You are responsible for charges and losses caused by inaccurate information, insufficient packaging, prohibited contents, failed pickup, or an address correction.

Fulfillment and delivery policy

A shipment is booked after payment authorization and carrier confirmation. We provide the label and booking confirmation electronically. You must print and attach the label unless checkout offers another method. Transit begins when the carrier accepts the package, not when the label is created. Delivery timing, tracking scans, pickup windows, and available destinations depend on the selected carrier and service. Confirm that a drop-off location accepts your carrier, package type, dimensions, and weight before traveling there.

Cancellation, refund, and dispute policy

  • To request cancellation, email support@geardropusa.com as soon as possible with your booking number. Cancellation is available only before the package is tendered and while the carrier still permits the label or pickup to be voided.
  • If an eligible shipment is canceled before tender, we will refund the amount paid for the canceled service. Any carrier fee that cannot be refunded because of your requested pickup, address change, or other booking instruction may be deducted where permitted by law, and we will explain that deduction.
  • If GearDrop cannot complete the carrier booking, we will cancel the payment authorization or refund the captured payment. Temporary card authorizations may remain visible until your bank releases them.
  • After the carrier accepts a package, the shipment cannot be canceled. A delay, loss, or damage request is handled under the carrier's service and claims rules. Contact us promptly so we can help start an eligible claim.
  • GearDrop sells a shipping service and does not sell the shipped items, so merchandise returns and exchanges do not apply.
  • Approved refunds are sent to the original payment method within five business days. Banks and card issuers typically take another five to ten business days to post the credit.

Contact us about an incorrect or duplicate charge before opening a payment dispute so we have an opportunity to investigate and correct it. This request does not limit any right you have under applicable law or your cardholder agreement.

Carrier claims and liability

Carrier liability for loss, damage, or delay is governed by the carrier's terms and any protection expressly selected at checkout. Declaring a value does not by itself purchase insurance. Keep the package, packaging, receipt, photos, and proof of value until a claim is resolved. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GearDrop is not responsible for carrier acts or omissions, indirect or consequential damages, or losses above the amount you paid GearDrop for the affected shipment.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so part of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, bypass access controls or usage limits, test stolen payment cards, interfere with GearDrop or its providers, scrape the service, or submit information you are not authorized to use. We may suspend access, cancel a booking, or report activity when reasonably necessary to protect customers, providers, or GearDrop.

Third-party services

Google Maps features are subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy. Stripe and carriers also apply their own terms and privacy policies to services they provide directly.

Service availability and disclaimers

GearDrop may change, suspend, or discontinue features and may correct pricing or service errors before a booking is accepted. Except for any express promise in these terms, GearDrop provides the website and services "as is" and disclaims implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Governing law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Los Angeles County, California, have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Changes and severability

We may update these terms by posting a revised version and changing the date at the top. The terms in effect when you book govern that shipment. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
